Bio
Bob Welch graduated from Virginia Tech, where he earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, along with a Masters of Engineering, Manufacturing Systems.
Bob has worked in the automotive industry throughout his career. Bob worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Lawton, Ok and Napanee, Ontario, Canada as well as TRW Automotive in Greenville, NC.
In 1998 Bob joined Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia. Bob has worked in many capacities for TMMWV, including Engineering, Quality, and Production.
Bob’ current role at TMMWV is General Manager, South Plant where he is responsible for all engine manufacturing operations, maintenance, engineering, and environmental. Highlights include TMMWV 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder engine operations receiving multiple awards from the Harbour Report for Engine Plant Productivity.
Bob serves as Executive Advisor to two TMMWV Business Partnering Groups: the African American Collaborative, and the Toyota Christian Fellowship Group. Bob serves on the BOD for the Charleston Area Alliance as well as the BOD for the Charleston Chamber of Commerce. Most recently Bob served as Chair of the WVU MAE visiting committee.
Bob resides in Scott Depot, WV and enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including farming.
