Senior Operations Advisor Chevron
After serving as Chevron’s first lower carbon director, Bevin VanGilder returned to Tengiz, Kazakhstan as part of Chevron’s joint venture Tengizchevroil (TCO) in 2024. VanGilder is supporting the commissioning and start-up of TCO’s ~$48 billion USD future growth project. TCO is the leading producer in Kazakhstan. Chevron is one of the world’s leading integrated energy companies.
VanGilder began her career with Chevron as an offshore petroleum engineer in the Gulf of Mexico in 2003. Over her 21-year career, she has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility in engineering; operations; project management; health, safety, and environment; asset management; major capital projects; and corporate strategy. She has worked in Louisiana, California, and Texas in the United States, and internationally in Malongo, Angola and Tengiz, Kazakhstan.
Since 2012, VanGilder has served on the West Virginia University Petroleum Engineering Visiting Committee, which is responsible for ensuring graduating students have the necessary skills to be marketable. She has been a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) since 2001 and has previously served in multiple leadership positions within that organization.
A native of Fairmont, West Virginia, VanGilder received her bachelor's degree in petroleum and natural gas engineering from West Virginia University in 2003, and her master's degree in business administration from the University of Oklahoma in 2019.
